Q&A with CHAOS

Posted by ping pirates |

Reporter: Arzhou

After the events of last weeks inquisition, I was able to catch up with Dominic Tee of CHAOS to ask a few questions about what happened and give CHAOS some air time after so much "Fong Pei"
1) How was CHAOS formed?

CHAOS started back when my brother and his group of friends started a soccer team among friends during high school. Me being younger used to hang out with them every now and then ultimately started playing soccer with them. We still do play soccer occasionally but we normally stick to 5 a side futsal now days...When all of us started joining Facebook, Chaos was formed as a group for keeping our soccer activities. When we needed members to form a clan for Battlestations, CHAOS was an obvious choice.

2) Why and how did Speedy Joined?

Well Speedy joined us by just..... applying. Her application took about 3 days to decide. It was our longest decision ever. It's not easy just taking in the top player in BS and expect everything to go smooth. After deciding that we would take her in, we expected the worst from the BS community. Little did we know that it turned out much much worst than we have ever imagined. She turned out to be a good addition to our side. She helped us start our own database and also our own chat. Of course she is one pillar of defense lol. She is a pretty quiet person though. Unlike limo....

3) Why do you think there was so much accusation about CHAOS cheating and abusing multies.

I really don't know where this one came from. Most of the top CHAOS members were pushing up the rankings fast even before the clan was formed. For most of you who can remember, we used to name our ship names with CHAOS at the end of it. When we came a clan, people started to notice us. Gamblers retired at that time, and with all the top 10 Gamblers gone, CHAOS members were in the top 10. People started noticing us but no accusations were thrown... yet.

How the accusations came that CHAOS was a clan filled with multis was beyond me. We were hovering around 17-20 members during the Christmas period and to be honest, we were happy with that amount. Then LL came knocking and asked us to get to 50 members or else! So in desperate measures we started recruiting. Anyone decent that applied we took in. Whether we took another members multi is unknown, cause to be honest its hard to tell who's a multi and who's not no matter how hard you look at a persons profile. Of course we had certain guidelines to follow in terms of applications. But we did find a few "weird" applications which we turned down.

Shouldn't it be easier to spot a multi in 60 member clan? or spot the multi hiding behind hundreds? I'm not accusing other clans but multi hunting should be focused on the bigger clans. Not the smaller ones.

4) Give me your side of the story about Yuri's case

Ahhh... the Yuri story. Well most of you would already by now.... Yuri has been re-instated. As you also might have noticed Speedy was de-level a whopping 8 levels. All i can say is that we fought by Yuri to get him back and thankfully LL allowed Yuri to come back. I never thought Speedy would be deleved 8 levels. But my guess for that is helps BS as a whole. Although i doubt some people will look at it that way. Anyway ill respect Yuri and Speedy's privacy... For those who really want to know what happened... Just ask them yourself... I doubt they'll bite

5) Select 1 Fong Pei File and give me your response.

I actually think that the whole Fong series is pretty funny. Ill hit his first ever case! Dominic Tee and Yuri Yarkov are multis (Since i am mentioned in there)

His case was that I had 2 Yuri Yarkov names on my friends list, and one of them only had me as a friend.(This is true!) Well i have cleared this up on the forums. Remember the "Bump this thread 5000 times and get a weekend event" from LL. Well Yuri took things a bit too seriously and bumped it till facebook got banned. We were talking on IM and he was freaking out that he lost his whole facebook profile. I got in touch with LL on his behalf and tried to work something out. Yuri then created another facebook account with the exact same name and mailed LL to try to get his BS account attached to his new Facebook account. After sometime when his original facebook account was restored, he continued on. As far as i know he never touched the 2nd Yuri Yarkov account again.

I cant really recall the rest of his files... only this one since my name was actually mentioned. But props to Fong Pei for his research, he really have all the time in the world to browse all our profiles one by one. I don't even browse through my own friends profile... well some of my friends. But since we are talking about CHAOS and Fong pei, i would like to ask Fong Pei a question... I would like to ask him what's his fascination about CHAOS? Why is he looking closely on us and not the rest? Posting as a multi and accusing people of being a multi is just plain stupid. Sorry to say that :p

The Aftermath of the Inquisition

Posted by ping pirates |

After the smoke has cleared....... Our reporter Arzhou was able do take some time off to do a body count of the casualties of Leonard's Great Inquisition aka Wrath of Pain-sama:

  1. 20000 level 1s were deleted for simply being dead accounts
  2. 200 + accounts, many of which were in the top rankings for level and wealth were reseted for the following reasons:
  • Multi Abuse
  • Too many multies
  • Invite abuse
  • Scripting
  • Feeding
Most notable was Russel Dave who tried to flood the ore market with over 1500+++ ores with his numerous multies. All Multies were reseted and the main account was fined heavily. Others also include the "Tann brothers".

An important lesson to learn is never name your captain or ship after characters in the Japanese Manga, Naruto. All traces of accounts related to Naruto were wiped off the face of Sios by the "6 faces of Pain", Leonard's ultimate skill. *Kidding.... the person who was reseted had all his facebook accounts named after Naruto characters, clearly a sign of multi, you are free to name your captain or ship after anyone or anything*

The Clash Of The Pirates : Part 2 - The Conflict

Posted by ping pirates |

By Chloe Chue (Ping Pirates)
With Dimitri Skandalis and Nicky Meyer (Pirates Covent)

The challenge sent, the date and time set. Now both clans aren’t those disorganised Pirates you read in those storybooks. We are high class pirates who use gyroscopes. Hence this part of the news will delve into how both clans prepared for the war.

Ping Pirates started out with Adrian announcing that everybody who wants to participate gathers on our usual MSN chat 1 hour before the war. At 1500 GMT, excited Pingsters got on and started chatting.

Warmaster Lu Feng (Captain Jax) started by getting people into attacking and defending teams. Near the fight. Adrian shut everybody up and only he and Lu Feng were allowed to talk.

The following exchanges were noted :

“No repair rule?”

Adrian : Ok guys remember, this fight has a no repair rule. That means a pure offense vs defense battle.

Dennis : No repair rule? Cannot repair fort or cannot repair ships?

Chloe : If cannot repair ships than how? What if everybody sunk sia?

“What does a fat cow do?”

Chloe : May I suggest 50 speed 5 cannon set up? Should kill off most low crafters.

Lu Feng : Ok Chloe... your set up?

Chloe : The usual... fat cow

Lu Feng : Can you defend?

Chloe : I got 3 cannons only, what if they go at 50 speed?

Lu Feng : Hmmm maybe buy a proto off somebody?

Chloe : No Gold!!! And I am reaching lvl 60 soon for shurikens. Hmm I am lvl 58, just nice for those lvl 58 missiles. Where to buy them ah?

Everybody : Corxas

Chloe : SHIT I AM IN JADE!!!!

Lu Feng : Ok then, Can you attack?

Chloe : I am just a fat cow... what do you think?

Somebody : So what can you do?

Chloe : Nothing basically except being a fat cow.

*Note: I ended up in the attacking team.

At Pirates Covent, Gordon announced the agreed time to everybody and Dimitri and his admirals, with their usual fanfare got everybody hyped up over the war. As one PCer taunts in Pirate language,

Andrew Spagnolo : Ping Pong can suck my ding dong, they are gonna get sunk, the real pirates gonna get crunked, pirates covent will win the fight, then party all night!!!

Admirals at PC took attendance and people sorted themselves into 3 teams, attacking, defending and guerrilla/stand-by team. Everybody in Pirates Covent wanted to participate in the war and made themselves available. They were out to prove that they are the better pirates.

During the fight, directly from the battle ground (replays courtesy of Dimitri):

“The Vanguard attacks!!!”

Norman Ahmed Leong (NAL) : No fair, why can you guys directly hit the fort while I face off the defenders?

Dimitri : Nice work there NAL, you distracted those defenders with your vanguards!!! Tsk they got to work on discipline!!!

John Benecke : Yes it helps me slip through their defense =D

“I need more gunnery/damage!!!”

John : ARGH I got the fort!!! I think.... shucks I didn’t well almost...

Nicholas How : woot 210 hp beats 635 hp!!! I GOT IT YAHOOOO....

PC Clan Masters : Yay congrats to Nicholas for getting the sink!!!

John : ARGH YOU STOLE MY KILL

Author’s Note : Comments said by individuals isn’t 100% accurate as author is lazy to sift through transcripts. However most of these did occur and were the general feelings of everybody.

With the challenge over in approximately 5 minutes, Pirates Covent proven to be the better Pirates on the battleground. However does this end the Pirates rivality? Find out in Part 3 : One for All, All for Pirates!!!

By Chloe Chue (Ping Pirates)
With Dimitri Skandalis and Nicky Meyer (Pirates Covent)

*Authors Note : As we want to put up this publication fast, I did not have time to consult Dimitri and Nicky more, appologies for that. However they gave me alot of material on their side of the war which I expanded upon, hence PC sections of the war is more brief.

Around 25th January 1600GMT, while the rest of Sios was making merry over the weekend event announcement, 2 groups of players were busy sharpening knifes, preparing gunpowder, and shouting their warcries. This is the clash of the pirates.

But let’s rewind for a moment to how the clash started. We got the Singapore clan (Temasek Hegemon), The Sword clan (Kusanagi), The revenge clan (Vengeance), The School clans (HCZD, ACS), the Seaman clans (SS Union, Seaman). And then you have Ping Pirates and Pirates Covent, the Pirates clan, or as some would put it, the real pirates and the pirates wannabes.

Every Singaporean student knows about ACS, HC, Raffles schools rivality. What nobody knows is the Pirates rivality. But unlike schools, pirates don’t try to “score more As than each other” or “Beat the other team in cross-country races” or “get more value-added awards” or “get a better cut-off point”. Instead we try to outsmart, out-joke, and of course out-drink each other.
When Pirates Covent took over Corxas Port (http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=18063885304&topic=6053) Ping Pirates took over Ping Port (http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=18063885304&topic=6553).

Finally enough is enough with all these lame contest, this calls for war. Hence Adrian Zhou (Ping Pirates leader) and Gordon Owens (Pirates Covent leader) declared war on each other.

As it was announced on BS forums, non-Pingsters and NPCs started getting excited. As Koh Wee Kiat said “Cool... Who will be the better pirate?”

People started rooting for favourites and taking bets.
Jeremy Hing : I am rooting for Ping
Gail Amilson Uy : Yeah go Ping
Zell Lin : I support Ping but if Ping loses please take off =X
Jeremy Gagne : Good luck to Ping they will need alot of it

Somebody even cheered my ship LOL...

Jing Yean : Fatty ftw!

With everybody excited, what happened after this? Stay tuned for Part 2, The Conflict.

Fong Pei Files: Case 7: CHAOS goes DOWN UNDER

Posted by ping pirates |

Inspector Fong Says:

Case 7: CHAOS goes DOWN UNDER

So, CHAOS used to have a clan page in which many members only had one friend as described in the earlier investigations. So how come their clan page is now a HIDDEN group? Don’t want to show the public the things they are doing behind their backs? Are they now inviting real friends that don’t even play Battlestations just to join the group so that the clan page doesn't that don’t even play Battlestations just to join the group so that the clan page doesn’t look fake? Why so secretive? Is there something to hide?

Fong Pei Files: Case 6: CHAOS is PSYCHIC?

Inspector Fong Says:

Case 6: CHAOS is PSYCHIC?

After looking around, I scratched my ass a bit and the best idea came upon me. I told myself it's time to look a bit closer into the Speedy and Sushi case as some fool posted in the forums that Ultra Wasabi is a real account. Since Speedy is part of EVA while Sushi is part of CHAOS, I decided to have a look at the Clan Fort defeats.

12hours Limo_driver(CHAOS) has defeated the Clan EVA Fortress!

13hours Jing Yean(EVA) has defeated the Clan S.S. Union Fortress!

37hours Limo_driver(CHAOS) has defeated the Clan EVA Fortress!

40hours Darth Vader(EVA) has defeated the Clan H.O.T.S. Fortress!

194hours Zues(CHAOS) has defeated the Clan EVA Fortress!

195hours Martin Lloyd(EVA) has defeated the Clan ACSIAN Fortress!

205hours Yuri Yarkov(CHAOS) has defeated the Clan EVA Fortress!

205hours Aik Ming(EVA) has defeated the Clan Temasek Fortress!

Wow. CHAOS destroys EVA after they revive the majority of the time. How come they ALWAYS know when EVA revives? From the previous Fong Pei Files and it has been strongly suspected that Speedy = Sushi. To Speedy: How can you attack your own clan? Are you THAT cold hearted? I need someone from EVA to confirm whether Speedy is defending the fort when Sushi attacks. To the person that helps, you will benefit my investigation in a paramount way.

Fong Pei Files: Case 5 - The Yummy Sushi

Posted by ping pirates |

Inspector Fong Says:

Case 5: The Truth about Ultra Wasabi aka Sushi

Wing Ho is pure Navigation(that is her husband so that is ok). Speedy is pure gunnery? Sushi is pure craft? Is Speedy using ALL 3 accounts? and Leon too?

Sandra joined on 12th October. She must have played and got hooked up. Then this Wing Ho and Sushi account are BOTH created on the 18th October. Could Sandra have been using Sushi as a feeding account to help her level up quick initially? After all, what else is better than a pure Craft engineer. This allowed her to get ahead in the game early only which to then speed level up from forts(which is legit).

hey, it's rude to make fun over people's name...Fong Pei = Fart (in cantonese)..

but it's more rude to accuse people being multi before any investigation..

STOP ACCUSE PEOPLE UNLESS YOU'VE ENOUGH EVIDENCE!!!!

*Here's a story to share*
One morning a women to take the boat out. She motors out a short distance, anchors, and to read her book. Along comes a forest policeman in his boat. He pulls up alongside the woman and says,"Good morning Ma'am. What are you doing?" "Reading a book," she replies, (thinking "isn't that obvious?") "You're in a restricted fishing area," he informs her. "I'm sorry officer, but I'm not fishing, I'm reading." "Yes, but you have all the equipment. I'll have to take you in and write you up." "If you do that, I'll have to charge you with sexual assault," says the woman. "But I haven't even touched you," says the policeman. "That's true, but you have all the equipment."

Speedy and Leon Yap moved to CHAOS at the same time and Leon is delevelled a few days ago due to multi-ing(as stated in another thread)...could there be a link?

Case 2: How many multis does CHAOS have?

Kevin Tee from CHAOS...could he have multis in the CHAOS clan? Check this out. Kayvin Tee has one friend? Is that your cousin or brother?

Case 1: Yuri Yarkov is Dominic Tee's multi account from clan CHAOS

Take a look, there are two Yuri Yarkov accounts on Facebook.

http://www.facebook.com/friends/?id=602528350&nk=0 Another Yuri Yarkov account with 159 friends in which all are Facebook friends

Lol...CHAOS...THE MULTI ACCOUNT CLAN! There are so many multi accounts in this clan...

Interview with a Gambler Part II

Posted by ping pirates |

We now continue our 2 part series of the interview with the ex-Leader of Gambler (since the clan is no longer around), Jingwei.....

Part II focuses more on clan issues so that other clan leaders can see what made gambler successful:

We know that Gambler was a rather selective clan, what did you look out for in a potential Clan member?

Here was the general requirements to join Gambler during our public recruitment process. I looked out for these characteristics while interviewing each applicant. ‘Polite and humble personality, good humour, and one that would endeavour to be active and promote clanship. And of course not part of any other existing clan’. I had also sent out invites to people that I saw in public forums whom which in my eyes deemed fit to be a suitable candidate for Gambler and to people that nagged me to join their clan as they were v.v.keen to join. We didn’t need to recruit strong players as most of my friends WERE the strongest players -_-".

How would you best describe your clan management style?

Gambler was very laid back and more of a social clan. We have a lot of casual posts that aren’t related to Battlestations in the Gambler forum. We pretty much let all the members do what they want. If they needed guidance, they just needed to post up or PM me. If anyone stuffed up(which pretty much no one did), such as in clan wars, the Gambler generals and myself were always there to look out for the clan and fix things up. I guess you can kind of say that many of the members of Gambler were spoonfed by us…until we left hahhaah they’re on their own now and I am very impressed by their performance so far!

With regards to raising up newbies into powerful members, Gambler took in a bunch of newbie players and raised them all up at once. This was one of the many reasons why we didn’t recruit more people as I didn’t have the time to repeat myself giving the same advice each time a new low leveled member joined. We dispensed them techniques on how to level up fast, stat allocation, PvP techniques, and what ships to purchase in relation to their style and class.

How are disputes handled within the clan?

Gambler never had any disputes believe it or not. Everyone took the leaders and generals advice. Gambler tactics were discussed and tested between me and Jonno and the other Gambler generals online on MSN before posted up for the other members. This assured optimum tactics.

How does it feel like to be the number 1 player in the game at one point in time? Was it difficult to maintain your position?

This is a question many battlestations players would be curious about. How is it to be number one? Well, honestly, being number one sucks lolz. Not only do sore losers start speculating that you cheat but being number one also comes with a fair amount of stress in trying to maintain the position. Fortunately, pretty much all the other players in the top 20 were members of Gambler so this took off the stress of losing the top position to another clan. Maintaining the position takes time unfortunately and I definitely spent a lot of time trying to maintain the top position. To other players playing Battlestations, I’d like to tell you guys that getting to the top 10 isn’t hard, its just how much time you wanted to put into it. Many of the Gambler generals started late such as Johnny Lau, Evelyn Lau, James Yek, Samuel Zane and they were able to get into the top 10. With certain tactics (in which one of them was the infamous Obsadian camping), many of our players levelled up damn quick. Those players that complained that just because I and a few of my other clan members started early, this meant that we would always be on top is in actual fact a load of BS, no, not a load of Battlestations. Many of my generals proved this statement false. Another one that proved it false was Gambler’s recruitment Speedy who started a lot later than us. Using Gambler tactics, she was able to get 6 levels ahead of the next highest player. You tell me if that isn’t skill.

We see many new clans forming, how would you advice clan masters to build up their clan?

Here are some of my views that I'd like to share to if any new clans are going to be formed. Hopefully it will give you some pointers on how to run a great clan and enhance your gaming experience.1) In the recruitment process, talk to all your applicants(I have 'interviewed' each applicant before i recruited them). Although it took me half a day solid to do(quite time consuming), it was well worth it. This way you'll know if you're recruiting people with decent attitude/personality.2) Promote clanship in the public threads. You need to know your members if you want a better 'clan gaming experience'. I have seen recruitment posts that just say 'Join this' and the continuous bumping associated with it. When i see it, I ask myself, why on earth would i wanna join that? What makes THAT clan stand out more than previous existing clans? Tell us what makes you different from other ones. You clan leaders should instead make some posts in the public forums so people start knowing who you are. If you ditch out some good advice or if people see you are helpful and with a good personality, the much higher your chances of people wanting to join and respect your clan. With better clanship, it is MUCH more likely your clan will succeed in the WAR.3) The idea of just a Traders Only Clan or Commander Only Clan etc or Dual class clans. Clans should have a diverse range of jobs if you want to succeed well. In Gambler, we had a diverse range of jobs and people with different stats for different types of kills. Just some advice that if you have all the same class, you somewhat tend to have similar weaknesses. Diverse stat allocation between players isn't as good as class diversity.4) It only takes a few members to take down a clan. Me and Eric Brown took down MW Fort ourselves last night. We just kept attacking it, they repaired an odd 100-200K but we didn't want to give up. Eventually their fort was destroyed. Those that believed that the Gambler Fort was extremely hard to take down should be reassured that it isn't. Get a gang of people with 350APs and go trigger happy. Any fort will be down in no time. Just don't catch their clan at full potential! There might be some things you disagree with me but this was the approach I took to form the Gamblers Crew. Hope this helps! For me, it wasn’t about winning, it was about having fun with my clan and building up relationships with my clanmates.

Gambler was the subject of many criticisms by players for hoarding all the top players, hence destroying any chance of competition. What is your take on the issue?

Gambler put clanship as their number 1 priority, not power or getting the highest rankings. Now a question to ponder on for those people that criticized us of being too strong and telling us to disband ourselves and join different clans, ‘Would you disband your clan with your personal friends to join other clans with people you don’t even know?’ I’m sorry but I don’t want to join a clan that is full of strangers, that’s just not on. I want to join a clan with my friends in it.

On another note, we were expecting a very big challenge for the first clan wars. However, after that first war, we realized that most other clans had incompetent members that didn’t know how to defend a fort -_-“. This left us with not much of a challenge. I admit that having a gazillion Royo Lights in the clan while everyone else were still in Overlords and Batte Royales helps a lot but this wasn’t the sole reason why we won the wars so easily. I was very surprised at how low levelled the FEAT fort was. They had a level 23 if I remember while we had a level 65 fort. I overestimated all the clans.

Now that gambler is no longer around, what do you think of the current landscape for clans. Which is the strongest in your opinion, why? And will they be as strong as gamblers or even stronger?

It’s a toss up between EVA and Temasek Hegemon. The remaining members of EVA have learnt many things of Gambler and are still Gamblers at heart. Their coordination is excellent and have good tactics. Temasek Hegemon, the clan created by Kevin Chung, and mainly led by Alvin Yap, are also a very good clan. Both clans have good members and I have had the honour to dispense some advise to both these powerhouse clans. However, will any clan ever be as strong as Gambler? No. Gambler’s fort never sunk. The fort was constantly repaired and our generals always had AP’s to use for the WAR. A clan that wishes achieve what Gambler achieved should try and accomplish the following:-
Have 15 members in the top 20(in which they should occupy rank 1, and 9 others in the top 10)
In a full clan war, destroy all the strong clans and remain as the last fort alive
Have a clan leader that has no more than 5 losses…anymore losses shows that you’re a noob lolz. Jonathan Vuong, the other clan leader was near the top 10 in wins and had 0 Losses.
Get lots of flaming and complaints in the public forums for being too strong.(At the moment, the only other clan that has received complaints is EVA so they are ahead on this one XD)
Most importantly, being part of a clan that has exceptional camaraderie.

Speedy aka Sandra part of EVA now? What have you to say to the new Rank 1 of Battlestations.

Sandra, you have great skill and tactics. Acquiring only 6 losses is quite an achievement (as compared to the other players in the top 10 with so many losses….-_-“). Gambler was proud to recruit you into EVA, even though you once hated my guts for booting you out of the clan(v.v.long story guys)… You have used Gambler tactics to get to where you are and have taken a step further by yourself to get to number 1 and for that we are proud lolz. Remember this thread? -_-“…
http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=18063885304&topic=5069
For those reading that thread, you guys can see how I allocated my stats. It is definitely a good guideline for Commanders who want a decent stat allocation.

If Gambler wasn’t around, choose a clan to join from the following choices:
1. A weakarse clan led by an extremely attractive girl
2. The most powerful clan within the game
3. A clan with extremely good clanship consisting of a number of people with great personalities
4. The clan with most members

Heck if Gambler was around, I’d resign as leader and join choice number 1. Not only that, I’d nominate myself as ‘clanship promoter’ officer. I enjoy getting to know my members better….for some members….a lot better….

*The interviewer would like to point out that Ping does have some attractive girls….. and one is in a leadership role*

How did Gambler’s started and why the name Gamblers?

Gambler was an idea by me and one of my friends Jonathan Vuong. First of all I’d like to say how a lot of us got into Battlestations in the first place. Jonno recently joined Facebook so I introduced him to one of the Facebook games I was playing at the time. The game got boring though after a while so I told Jonno that I’ll search the Facebook Apps for more games. It was then I spotted a game called Battlestations. Read the blurb, sounded ok, added the App. Started playing it a while and my first impression was ‘Hey this game is very different from any other Facebook game. It actually feels like a game! Not some word texted crap.’ So I got Jonno to play it. We both joined when there were if I remember around 200 users so we have been around for quite around.

We got addicted fast and we got MANY of our friends (around 20) to play. Most of them that added the App got hooked. Engaging in lots of PvP, I managed to get into the top 10 and then quickly rose to the top 3. I enjoyed PvP right from the start and didn’t enjoy exploring at that time because I had TERRIBLE luck. For the record, I was level 20+ before I found my first ore -_-“. However, I did get quite a number of wood and found one plasma rock. There was no resource auction or resource transmutation back then.

So how did Gambler start? We had a number of members near the top but not in the Top 10 including Jonathan Vuong, Jack Gon, Eric B, Sara Low, Kim Yeun Soon and Kurt Truong. Many of our other friends were still very low leveled. It was then I wanted to form a group of fighters that will later become a bunch mass sinkers and feared in Sios. So I asked Jonno; “Hey, lets form a clan like those that exist already (Dragoons and Hegemon) but instead, our clan will be low profiled.” (The name Gambler was chosen was because it is a well known Korean Bboy (Breakdance) Crew). I didn’t want a clan associated with the name Pirates or whatever, I wanted it completely unrelated to Battlestations hence why we had that clan picture of those from the real Gamblers Crew if you guys remember XD. Gambler had NOTHING to do with gambling or casinos or cards etc…I don’t gamble!) Jonno agreed to form a secret clan but we needed something that was able to identify us as a Gambler member. 18 of my personal friends formed this initial clan so I thought, we need a sink phrase which people will eventually speculate that a secret clan was in existence. This was then where the sink phrase ‘Defeated by Gamblers Crew’ came to rise as there were no clan tags at the time and there was pretty much no other way to identify us as part of a crew. A number of people and some clans have unfortunately perceived this to be some sort of gloat phrase -_-“ but personally I don’t see what is so ‘gloaty’ about it. A phrase like ‘You got you arse handed to you by Gamblers Crew’ sounds more cocky.

We wanted Gambler to spread by name, not through publicizing in the public forums. We were hoping that someone would post in the public forum, ‘Who is this clan that keeps sinking us?’

People might be curious as to who was the first non personal friend recruit that joined Gambler. It is none other than one of the clan masters of EVA, Martin Lloyd piloting the Slippery Octopus. Why him? He was my favourite victim to sink multiple times(it wasn’t anything personal!) I remember sinking him once and he happened to be online and he revived(there was no protection at that time). So who was I going to sink? Him of course! How can you not resist sinking the same person over and over?!

I felt bad sinking him quite a few times so I asked him to join the newly formed crew. We also invited a few others into Gambler through invite until…we announced our official public recruitment as Leonard told us that he was going to make a clan system.

When I put up this thread, we had under 30 positions and people were applying like crazy. A few of the members even defected from other clans to join us! One of them, notably was Reuben Kee. Reuben was initially part of the 13th Dragoons before we publicized ourselves. I had a very strict recruitment process in which I have used all the way until I retired and this included making sure he wasn’t part of any clan nor a spy. I said to Reuben, ‘Sorry, I cannot let you into the crew as you are part of another clan.’ He replied something on the lines of, ‘Ok. I’m leaving.’ I was like ‘Ok. All the best for your clan in the future!’ Then I realized from his next reply ‘No! I mean I’m leaving that clan! I want to join you guys!’ I was like lolz I hope your leader doesn’t get pissed off that you defect!

For the record, I literally spent half a day non stop interviewing each person that PM’ed me and let those that ‘pass’ the interview into the clan. However, it was worth it as we had formed a clan with extremely good clanship.

Does Gambler’s participate in several different games as well? Kind of like a professional gaming guild?

Hahahaha we don’t have much time for hardcore gaming! Gotta work and study!

Your profile pic on facebook often changes between some very hot looking girls, why do you choose to use such a profile pic? :p

Lolz, this is quite a touchy question. Maybe I shouldn’t answer it..it’s too personal. Maybe its just because I like hot girls XD. XD XD XD. Argh come on, who would you rather stare at when looking at a post. Some guy or some EYE CANDY?!!! Come on Adrian, YOU KNOW YOU LIKE IT -_-"

*The interviewer finds that statement rather hard to deny :p

6. You also had quite a knack for spotting who were cheating in game, how was that possible?

Well, I see many things, NOT just hot girls!!! LOL

You quit Battle Stations as the top player. Was it a tough decision to quit?

Nope, was easy. Did it short and sweet at the time and with a smile on my face. There were countless reasons as to why I decided to retire. The only downside of retiring from Gambler was leaving the other clanmates (who are now in EVA). Other than that, I have no other regrets. We accomplished what we wanted already and there wasn’t anything more for us to achieve. We defeated every other clan and left undefeated. What more could a clan want?

How does it feel playing as a low level character again?

Definitely more fun believe it or not. No stress, no flaming, play whenever I feel like and no strings attached. Being in a clan was definitely fun and I met many new friends. There are advantages in both situations. Going back to the humble days in a merchantman is extremely relaxing. Those that are in the top 10 are constantly challenged to maintain their rank which is rather a bit stressful for us to enjoy. Remember guys, a game is made to be enjoyed.
